Killens Pond State Park and Waterpark |

The park is open daily, 8 a.m.-sunset, year-round. Located off US 13 between Harrington and Felton. Park entrance fees are charged daily between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day, and on weekends and holidays during May, September and October. Enjoy the great outdoors, by boating, fishing, hiking, playing, and swimming at Killens Pond State Park. The park’s location near the geographical center of Delaware makes it the perfect home base for exploring the state. Killens Pond offers year-round camping and cabins in a wooded area near the shore of the picturesque 66-acre freshwater pond. The campground includes 59 tent and RV sites with electric and water hookups, 17 secluded tent sites, and camping cabins, each with an efficiency kitchen, dining area, bedroom, bath with shower, AC and heat. Canoes, rowboats and pedal boats can be rented during the summer, and narrated pontoon boat tours circle the pond on summer weekends and holidays. This diverse park also includes a nature center, athletic fields, miles of hiking trails, playgrounds, pavilions, and picnic areas. Summer fun abounds at the Killens Pond Waterpark, a swimming complex with waterslides, water amusements, a kiddie pool, and bathhouse. Swimming is open daily Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Two 27-foot high, 167 and 205 foot long double waterslides twist and turn their way to the receiving splash pool. The main pool features a zero grade entry, underwater benches, mushroom fountain, floating lily pad fun walk, and interactive water play features. The specially designed tot pool features two frog slides, a tunnel slide, water curtain, climbing platform, bubblers, and spray fountain. The Waterpark also has a concession stand, swim shop, locker rooms, and showers. Proper swimsuits are required. An admission fee is charged for entry to the Waterpark. |

G & R Recreation Area & Campground |

Located between Milford and Harrington off Route 14. From Route 14, take Deep Grass Lane south, cross the railroad tracks, and turn right onto Gun and Rod Club Road. The campground will be on the right. Located on 31 acres of open and wooded land, G&R Campground offers 80 RV campsites with water, electric, and sewer hookups, 16 cottages, and primitive tent sites. The cottages have heating and AC, with efficiency kitchens, bathrooms, and satellite TV. G&R Campground hosts many fun activities and special events in its 10,000 square foot Activity Hall with lounge. Campers enjoy the game room, camp store, and guarded swimming pool. Basketball, horseshoes, volleyball, nature trails, and two softball fields are available for active campers and picnickers. The G&R Campground offers many special events year-round for campers and the public, and is now the site of the annual June Jam music festival. In December, the campground welcomes visitors to its Christmas Nature Trail of Lights. Special event schedules are listed on the G&R web site. |
